名字:斯龙(巨大的乌龟)[Scutosaurus]

Name:Arthropleura
Origin:Arthropleura is a burrower. It inhabits the rainforest floor and the ground underneath. Flourished throughout the Carboniferous period - c. 300million years ago.
Size:6 metres long, when fully grown.
Weight:One tonne
Eats:Conventional wisdom says, like other insects, Arthropleura are traditionally known for eating detritus (i.e. rotting vegetation and droppings from other animals), but has developed a carnivorous appetite.
Distinguishing features: Likes to inhabit warm, dark places. Has huge jaws filled with lethal venom. And a tendency to attack anything that moves. It resembles a giant centipede and is easily provoked into attack. It has 2 enormous jaws which can inject lethal venom into its victims.

Name:Mosasaur
Origin:Both fresh and salt water, Late Cretaceous period - c. 70million years ago.
Size:Up to 20 metres long.
Weight:Up to 15 tonnes
Eats:Anything. Including other, smaller mosasaurs.
Distinguishing features: Mosasaurs evolved from the first lizards, taking to the sea when dinosaurs infested the land. These long, snake like serpents have powerful flippers where their predecessors had legs, but have retained the immensely powerful jaw, and numerous rows of razor sharp teeth.

Name:
Hesperonis
Origin:Rocky coastal areas, Late Cretaceous period - c. 70million years ago.
Size:1.5 metres tall.
Weight:75kg
Eats:Pre-historic fish, crustaceans, urchins, and wet laundry.
Distinguishing features: Hesperonis looks like a common cormorant... only four times the size, with scales instead of feathers and a vicious set of teeth. They let out a piercing squawk when frightened. They tend to be more dumb than violent, only attacking when they're in a panic or disturbed.

Name:Dodo
Origin:Predator-free islands (like Mauritius). Up until the 17th century, when they became extinct.
Size:Up to a metre tall, with a stumpy build.
Weight:Very heavy by bird standards, up to 23kg
Eats:Ripe fruit fallen from trees. Notably the Ambalacoque, native to the islands, and now extinct itself as there are no more dodos to assist in it's germination process.
Distinguishing features: The Dodo was a placid and curious creature with a 23-centimetre bill - the perfect tool for foraging for fallen fruit. It has small, useless wings, since the lack of predators gave it no reason for flight. The Portuguese sailors who discovered it named it "Dodo", which means stupid, because it never ran away when hunted. Of course, we know the reason for this is that dodos had never previously encountered predators - so were in fact likely to have been just as intelligent as other birds.

Name:Unknown
Origin:Tropical islands inhabited by the dodo. 15th-17th centuries.
Size:Up to 30 centimetres long.
Weight:70 grams
Eats:Feeds off the nutrients in the bloodstream of it's host - principally birds, or mammals.
Distinguishing features: This previously undiscovered species is a parasite. It is a worm-like creature which was first discovered when it infested dodos. It burrows into the brain of the carrier and manipulates the host, causing, it to become aggressive - the resultant bites serve to spread the parasite to a new host. Any creature is an acceptable host, even humans.

Name:Pteranodon
Origin:North American plains. Late Cretaceous period, c. 85million years ago.
Size:With a wingspan of up to 9 metres, pteranodon was not the largest pterosaur - some were as large as 13 metres.
Weight:An unconscious pteranodon requires a truck and trailer in order to move it!
Eats:Fish and small reptiles. Including Coelurosauravus.
Distinguishing features: Pteranodon has a huge, red crest on it's head. Made from bone, this appendage is thought to have been used as a way of attracting other Pteranodons to mate. It has very large sail-like wings, made from it's tough skin stretched over a framework of bones. Although Pteranodon could propel itself by flapping these wings, it would more often haved used thermal currents in the air to glide around searching for prey. Talking of which, a human being need not fear a Pteranodon - since it is armed only with a toothless beak, like modern day birds, Pteranodon would have only attacked animals small enough to swallow.

Name:Agnurognathus
Origin:North American woodlands. Late Cretaceous period, c. 85million years ago.
Size:About the size of a chicken.
Weight:4kg
Eats:Red meat. Mainly from the living flesh of wounded creatures.
Distinguishing features: Agnurognathus is armed with a set of small, yet terribly sharp teeth that provide the perfect tool for removing flesh from bone. Much like piranha fish, Agnurognathus had an amazingly keen sense of smell - able to detect spilt blood from hundreds of feet away. What's more, Ahnurognathus hunted in packs - an entire flock could strip the flesh from a carcass in a matter of minutes. All in all, a terrifying prospect.
