Time and Love  時間‧愛

Once upon a time, there was an island inhabited by:Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all the rest of it, including Love. One day word got around that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love.
  Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.
  When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask help; Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said, "Richness, can you take me with you?" Richness answered,"No, I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place for you."
  Love decideed to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. "Vanity, please help me!" "I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat." Vanity answered.
  Sadness was close by so Love asked,"Sadness, let me go with you." "Oh.. Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"
  Happiness passed by Love,too,but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her.
  Suddently, there was a voice,"come, Love, I will take you," It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed, Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went own way.
  Realizing how much was owned the elder, Love asked Knowledge, another elder,"Who helped me?" "It was Time," Knowledge answered. "Time?" asked Love."But why did Time help me?" Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered,"Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuale Love is."

從前，有一個島，島上住了「快樂」、「悲傷」、「知識」，還有「愛」。

一天，傳聞不斷飄散，這個小島快要陸沉了。於是，所有的居民也造了小舟，離開。除了「愛」。

「愛」獨自留在島上。「愛」希望等待到最後，最後一個可能的時刻。

小島真的快要陸沉了，「愛」決定求救。「富有」坐在一艘豪華大船，經過「愛」。「愛」問：「你可順道載我一程嗎﹖」，「富有」回答：「不行，我的船有太多的金銀，沒有地方容得下你了。」

另一艘漂亮快艇駛過，上面坐了「虛榮」，「愛」決定再試一試，問：「請問你可以幫助我嗎﹖」「不行，你都全濕透了，會弄壞我的快艇。」「虛榮」回答道。

跟者，「悲傷」駛近。「愛」問：「讓我和你一起走吧﹖」「噢，我真的很傷痛，我需要一個人獨處。」

「快樂」經過「愛」，但「快樂」實在太快樂了，沒有聽到「愛」在叫喊。

忽然，傳來一把聲音：「來吧，我和你一起走。」這是一把成熟的聲音。

沉醉在感恩的喜悅中，「愛」忘了問對方，前方是那裡。終於到了另一片陸地，開船的繼續自己的旅程，走了。

終於，明白到自己對對方有所虧欠，「愛」請教了另一位年長的「知識」：「是誰救了我﹖」

「是時間。」

「時間﹖為什麼時間要救我呢﹖」

「知識」微笑，深有所悟，回答道：「唯有時間，明愛真義。」
